HEIC to jpg Conversion

HEIC is an iOS high density photo format that needs to be converted to jpg to be opened on other platforms.

  • Open the Photos app
  • In Photos, open the photo to convert
  • Tap the icon in the lower left corner and tap ‘Copy Photo’
  • Open the Files app; as needed navigate to ‘On My iPhone’ (and create a new ‘convert’ folder)
  • In the white space, press until the menu appears and select ‘Paste’
  • In Files, open the photo to convert
  • Tap the icon in the lower left corner and tap Dropbox or another file sharing app
  • In the near upper right, tap ‘Rename’ and rename the suffix from ‘jpeg’ to jpg’ and click on ‘Done’
  • Tap on ‘Upload’

Reduce Photo Size

  • Open the Photos app
  • In Photos, open the photo to reduce
  • Tap on ‘Edit’ near the upper right corner
  • Tap on the ‘Crop’ icon near the lower right corner
  • Reduce the image frame to the minimum
  • Tap on ‘Done’ in the upper right corner
